So today was amazing.
Yesterday I had to wake up super early at 4:45 so to be able to sleep in today until 8 was a relief. I had work from 10 until 6:30 and i also had my assessment.
Pretty much, the person that was supposed to be assessing me doesn't speak English well and couldn't read the written test and then she would not stick with me for the actual evaluation, so my nicer of my two trainers helped me out and just told me what to do and evaluated me instead. Well, both my trainers are nice...one just acts like she likes her job A WHOLE LOT more than the other. I don't think the other likes her job very much but I will leave it at that.
I met majority of my managers today (there is nine) and had a meeting with one in her office to go over some stuff.
It was amazing to be able to talk to a lot of the people today. Majority of the guests are so sweet and so thankful. My favourite thing today was this one elderly couple that approached me and asked me where I could get a map. I have a pouch to carry them around and they were so thankful towards me. I could tell from their accents they were from England and they had noticed from my name tag I was from Ontario. I continued to talk with them for about ten minutes and seeing the smile and joy in their faces was truly a touching moment. Finally, the girl assessing me yelled at me to get back to the break room so I told them to "have a magical day". I can't describe in words how good those people made me feel when in reality it was my job to try to make their day special.
I'm asking my manager with a lanyard with trading pins on it on my next shift, as it was a lot of fun talking to children today and hopeful it will get me more guest interaction.
One of the girls that I worked with today from Hong Kong gave me some green tea from her country which was nice. I can't decide if i want to drink it right now or keep it as a souvenir. LOL
Tomorrow I have a day off and me and Attila are leaving here at 8:30 to go to the Magic Kingdom and then we are heading over to Epcot. I have barely been in the parks yet. I'll prob have time to write on this tomorrow.
